In 2020, the Friends of the City Cemeteries was founded to preserve and improve the three city cemeteries of Villa Rica. Our volunteers have engaged in landscaping, cleaning and repairing headstones, as well as conducting genealogy research.
In 2024, we began assisting with the preservation of Jordan Cemetery in Carrollton and Friendship Baptist Church in Villa Rica. We are excited to continue our work in Villa Rica, where we began, while also offering our assistance to other cemeteries in West Georgia.

Friends of West Georgia Cemeteries is a non-profit organization (501)(c)(13) made up of volunteers dedicated to preserving and protecting the cemeteries of West Georgia. We collaborate with local governments, community groups, and private landowners to safeguard these historical sites for future generations. Our efforts include clearing overgrown cemeteries, as well as cleaning and repairing headstones and monuments.
